Full disclosure: I’m typically not a shower girl. I live in an old building, with old plumbing, which means that the convenience of jumping in for a quick wash is lessened by the inevitable “Freeze or Fry Foxtrot” that happens whenever someone on my floor flushes the toilet, or does dishes, or just thinks hard about water. But a friend who knows that I am 1 – Uber picky and 2 – Uber dryskinned sent me this to try out, promising that it would 1 – WORK and 2 – Not leave my shower a treacherous oil slick (there are better ways to meet a handsome paramedic) . She was correct on both counts A small amount left me butter smooth and moisturized (I didn’t even lotion after) and in no danger of loosing my footing as I darted in and out of the cold, no hot, no cold again stream.

But what I am REALLY writing about is the scent. Lemongrass is usually one of those throw away fragrances that smells a little like an air freshener – for people who “don’t want anything too heavy”. Who want to smell like they just came from polishing all their vintage wood furnishings.

This? Is not that Lemongrass. This is deep in a Thai jungle Lemongrass. This is 20 gallon drum of tom yum lemongrass. This lemongrass made me forget that a cold grey Chicago January day was waiting for me on the other side of that shower curtain. And that is reason enough to add this to your SAD arsenal. ( The smooth skin thing will probably be pretty great for summer too, but priorities)
